This role will be dynamic with the opportunity to create change, coach others and make a difference in how we support our team members in health, safety and wellbeing.

Reporting into the Regional HSE Manager (based in China), this position will work autonomously to support the delivery of the ANZ regional strategy as well as working in collaboration with the global HSE and HR team in delivering significant improvement projects.

**The role**
- Partner and collaborate in the development of a GALE Pacific safety and environmental management systems across the company
- Lead in the development and implementation of the ANZ specific strategic Safety & Environment plan
- Lead, coach, and support supervisors, team members and senior management enabling effective leadership in safety and environment
- Lead and implement ANZ based safety and environmental programs aligned to the company’s strategic plan
- Accountable for facilitating the achievement of annual safety and environmental objectives and targets in the ANZ region
- Accountable for maintaining OHS and environmental legislative compliance
- Proactively approach corrective action planning and incident investigation with relevant departments to reduce risk and manage changes to process or policy
- Engage with team members at all levels of the organisation to build trusted partnerships and encourage development of a positive safety first culture
- Foster a cohesive, knowledgeable, and proactive safety committee
- Lead audit requirements of sites in ANZ related to OHS & Environment
- Own and deliver monthly ANZ management HSE reporting
- Financial management of safety and environment budget
- Relevant Tertiary qualification and/or previous proven experience in HSE leadership
- Experience working with operational teams in a manufacturing or logistics environment
- Ability to be both strategic and operationally focused according to the requirements at hand
- Ability to interpret Australian OH&S legislation, develop policy and action accordingly
- Extensive auditing and workplace assessment experience
- Ability to identify, analyse and interpret safety and environment data for trends and recommend solutions
- Continuous improvement approach to work with self-motivation
- Positive attitude and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and excellent prioritisation skills
- Strong experience with MS Office Suite and Safety Management software (e.g. AssureGo+)
