This is an exciting phase in our history and we are looking for experienced Operational Analyst to join us at our office in as we embark on our next phase of growth.
The Submarine Enterprise requires Operational Analysts to undertake Operational Analyses (OA) as applied to CCSM sustainment, CCSM LOTE and NPS TF aligned with the respective program objectives, in order to translate between technical systems performance measures and terms relating to operational effectiveness.
Submarine OA involves the modelling of Mission and Support System operational Mission-scenarios, through collaborations with the Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group and industry.
The Operational Analyst's efforts will be mainly directed at the development of modelling concepts, the operation of OA models and the post-analysis and presentation of results, with the programming of models mainly directed to DST Group and industry.
The Operational Analyst will work under the support and direction of the Operational Analysis Manager.
Under limited supervision, the Operational Analyst is responsible for providing the following functions and outputs:
Develop high levels of familiarity with the relevant Operational Concept Document (OCD's) operational Mission scenarios, and provide expert advice to the Operational Analysis Manager on scenarios and excursions to drive Mission/ Support System performance measures;
Develop thorough and valid concepts of analysis for modelling through close liaison with the Capability Sponsor's operational experts and Technical Managers;
Researching Defence Intelligence Organisation (DIO) threat projections and / or international developments in novel concepts of employment for emerging technologies, into the development of concepts of analysis;
Through a highly-developed proficiency in the operation of OA models, build scenarios for OA studies, undertake post-analyses and present results;
Capture OA studies' concepts and results in documentation for record-keeping; and
Collaborate with / assist the Capability System Architect in the capture of OA concepts into the Mission and Support System Architecture models.
**Key Success Factors for Excelling in the Position**:
Should have a technical Bachelor's degree and either possess a postgraduate qualification in, or have commensurate experience in, OA or a closely related field.
The Operational Analyst will have highly-developed analytic skills, with experience and / or qualifications in a scientific or technical field.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and have a strong attention to detail.
Experience in Modelling and Simulation will be greatly beneficial to the Operational Analyst
