Job summary
You’ll be part of a team that’s responsible for delivering the world’s best data center services across the globe. This six month role will provide an introduction to working in Logistics at AWS. Logistics Specialist Trainee will assist with the maintenance of onsite parts room in the AWS Data Centers and the custody of computer hardware from arrival through to departure. Day to day tasks will involve assisting with lifecycle cycle counts, picking and delivering parts to the hardware technicians, shipping faulty hardware back to the vendor and then receiving / logging replacement parts.
Key job responsibilities
- Assist with monitoring inventory levels to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained to support build and repair activities.
- Receiving parts, maintain inventory and check-out parts as needed for Datacenter Technicians and Engineers.
- Loading and unloading shipments and transporting parts between different locations.
- Keeping precise records of all commodities going in and out of company.
- Maintaining the cleanliness, organisation, and safety of all workspaces.
Physical / Environmental Demands

- Loading and unloading shipments.
- Standing, sitting, and walking (including stairs) for prolonged periods of time.
- Willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and kneel.
- Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.
- Push or pull heavy objects of up to 16kg into position and participate in group lifts of 20kg or more.
- Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
- Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
- Work in an office and warehouse environment where the noise level is low to moderate.
- APICS or a similar TAFE warehousing / inventory accreditation.
- Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment and using computer based inventory control systems.
- Working Platform/Forklift license.
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a commitment to operational excellence.
- Demonstrated positive work attitude and commitment to a culture of safety.
- Experience handling computer spare parts.
