**Business Development Coordinator**
Oxford Policy Management is expanding its team in Australia and seeking to recruit a full-time Business Development Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing office within a world-class international development consulting firm, which seeks to bring about lasting positive change using analytical and practical policy expertise.
Initially established as part of the University of Oxford in 1979 we have grown to 12 country offices with over 400 staff. With over 40 years' experience, our breadth of expertise is across all the key sectors and across the policy cycle. We established an Australian office in 2017, working in the Indo-Pacific region in relevant sectors.
The Business Development Coordinator will work with the OPM Australia Country Manager and our in-house technical consultants and Project Managers to support the realisation of the Australian office strategy and vision. They will coordinate the acquisition process from representation of OPM Australia in key industry forums, the identification of opportunities, to supporting the identification of partnerships, coordinating and drafting proposals (leading where appropriate), and capturing feedback and insights on proposals. Specific roles and responsibilities include:
**Business Development**
- Support the Identification of key partners and opportunities to pursue that fit within overall strategy and are aligned with OPMs values and culture
- Develop business development and marketing materials drawing on key project engagements across OPM’s global footprint
- Strengthen business development procedures and record keeping
- Opportunity tracking and pipeline management
- Identify and track opportunities through business forecasts and build up an opportunity pipeline in line with OPM Australia strategy and approach
- Undertake detailed research activities on potential opportunities, identifying key stakeholders and potential partners
- Communicate pipeline opportunities with the Country Director, key in-house technical teams, International Offices, and relevant functional teams
**Acquisition and proposal development**
- Lead bid development where appropriate
- Coordinate the proposal development process, supporting the development of detailed proposal plans, ensure deadlines are communicated, and relevant OPM inputs are scheduled to feed into the process as needed
- Undertake personnel/organisation due diligence checks according to OPM procedures and draft Letters of Association, Memorandum of Understanding and contracts for review
- Manage internal proposal approvals according to OPM procedures
- Conduct research to support the development of financial proposals, draft when required and develop and maintain compliance documentation
- Contribute to proposal writing, editing, proofing and formatting in line with client specific formats and guidelines Provide secretariate duties as required (scheduling of meetings, minute taking, recording and distribution of notes)
**Knowledge Management**
- Collate feedback (internal and external) on proposal development and feed into process improvements
- Further develop and maintain registers such as due diligence, current contracts, preferred suppliers and potential partner organisations
- Contribute to and support internal learning processes that improve OPM’s business development practice and enhance the company’s value propositions
- Maintain an active, current CV database, including communications management
**Administration**
- Support project / office administration as required
This is a full-time position, with an option for remote work within Australian Eastern time-zone, but would still be required to be attend he office when needed. Preference will be for Canberra based applicants. The role holder must be legally authorised to work in Australia.
**Role requirements**:
- Minimum 3 years in international development with a focus on business development
- Relevant undergraduate qualification (minimum) or equivalent experience
- Specific experience working on DFAT business development is essential
- Excellent understanding of the proposal development process with a well-organised, cohesive, and results oriented approach
- Successful track record of managing the opportunity identification and tracking process
- Strong writing skills, developing proposal text drawing from a range of internal and external sources
- Experience in MERL, Governance, and Climate Change is desirable
- Experience in financial proposal development is desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work with multi-cultural teams globally
- Ability to work as part of a team and at times independently with limited supervision.
- Willingness to work across various timezones (some out of hour’s work required)
