**About the role**
As the Partnerships Lead, reporting to the Head of Strategy and Partnerships, you will be responsible for facilitating and supporting Council to foster successful external relationships with all levels of government, non-government partner organisations and other stakeholders in the broader community, to build our networks and identify opportunities for collaboration. The role will work across all City departments to implement the organisation’s Partnership Model that will enable us to have a single-front door for partners to engage with the City and will allow us to collect data and insights about our relationships with partners, the work we do together and how we can collaborate to deliver on the Region’s Vision, Our Community Plan and our Organisation Strategy.

This role will work closely with both new and existing partner organisations to ensure that Council’s role in the provision of services to its customer is well defined and sustainable for the future. You will play a critical role in helping to identify resources, nurture relationships, and engage with both external and internal stakeholders using various engagement and communication techniques. This will also include evaluating partnership relationships and service opportunities at various checkpoints and providing progress reports and data.

Key responsibilities include:

- Develop and deliver the City's 30-year vision Implementation Plan.
- Develop and implement the City’s Strategic Partnership Strategy, Model and Partnership Engagement Plan.
- Be the point of contact for the business to identify and undertake partnership opportunities
- Identify opportunities to work with and leverage the partnership network by building and managing a forward-looking pipeline of opportunities
- Develop a centre of excellence for, and train facilitators who are adept in design thinking and human-centred design related capabilities to be used when dealing with our partners, to work in a “clever and creative” way and drive innovation
- Manage the Vision Partners Group including facilitating strategic direction setting, engaging individual partners in implementation, managing, and facilitating projects and initiatives that have a greater impact on the implementation of the 30-year vision and delivering high quality administrative support.
- Manage the governance for all of the City’s external Advisory Committees by undertaking meeting preparation and content planning, engaging individual committee members as required and presenting committee recommendations to ELT and Councillors as required.
- Identify commercial and partnership opportunities and facilitate discussions with internal and external stakeholders to enable efficient and effective achievement of Geelong City’s overall business objectives and develop a roadmap of activity and opportunities.
- Work with Commercials Lead to quantify new opportunities to partner, based on cost vs value evaluations
- Work with Commercials to identify and manage Service Partners, based on sourcing and commercial agreements
- Identify and support other stakeholders in the delivery of selected activities in the plan including securing funding and / or sponsorship.
- Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to secure their commitment and support to achieve the aspirations of the vision.
- Work with SME’s and different committees to develop key strategic documents and assist with the establishment of the Strategy Development Process.
- Evaluate and provide feedback to stakeholders on progress and outcomes outlined in the plan.
