**About the role**
As the **Internal Communications Adviser,** you are integral to the success of V/Line’s **Corporate Affairs Group.**
**Corporate Affairs** is the organisation’s central point for government and stakeholder relations, policy development and coordination, media and issues management, internal and external communications, learning and development, capability, and culture and engagement.
As the operational group of the Office of the CEO, **Corporate Affairs** provides trusted advice to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, strengthening V/Line’s brand and reputation.
The I**nternal Communications Adviser** reports into the **Head of Internal Communications**and partners with teams from across V/Line to develop and deliver communication strategies and campaigns that inform our people about our strategic priorities, new initiatives, organisational changes and the impact of our work.
The role produces content across a range of internal channels including the intranet, internal newsletter and Viva Engage. The role also supports the delivery of internal events, such as CEO Forums.
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Supporting the development and delivery of communication strategies and campaigns to embed employee awareness and understanding of V/Line’s values, vision and purpose, as well as other enterprise-wide projects and initiatives.
- Building strong internal stakeholder relationships with V/Line departments to gather information on strategy, projects, stories of success and other information to be used in internal communications.
- Supporting the effective management of the intranet, including maintaining news content and supporting staff to use SharePoint as required.
- Supporting the successful planning and delivery of organisation-wide events.
- Measuring the effectiveness of internal communications, using insights to improve outcomes.
- Liaising with other teams within Corporate Affairs to ensure consistency of messaging.
- Managing the internal communications inbox requests.
- Exercising flexibility to complete other duties as required.
**About you**
The Internal Communications Adviser supports the delivery of strategic internal communications that align our workforce in a shared vision, purpose and values.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the development and delivery of strategic communications plans or campaigns.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse employee audiences across multiple channels.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build constructive relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds.
- Adept at using technology, including the ability to quickly learn and be proficient in various internal communications systems/platforms such as SharePoint, Mailchimp and MS Teams Live Events.
- Experience coordinating virtual, hybrid and in-person events or roadshows.
- Flexibility to fulfill various requirements within a small team.
- Successful completion of tertiary qualifications in Communications or an equivalent discipline.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion and sound judgement when working with sensitive or confidential information.
- Ability to contribute to a positive and collaborative culture.
