**What you’ll do:
The Wesfarmers Group has a long history of supporting Reconciliation with Australia’s First Nations people. Wesfarmers is one of very few organisations to have achieved an Elevate Reconciliation Action Plan from Reconciliation Australia.
We have an exciting opportunity for a First Nations Affairs & Employment Manager join the team.
As the newest division in the Wesfarmers group, Wesfarmers Health aspires to build a diverse and inclusive business for the benefit of our customers, suppliers, team members and shareholders.
You will develop a First Nations employment plan to achieve sustainable employment outcomes for First Nations team members at Wesfarmers Health. This involves collaborating with external organisations, supporting onboarding and training, mentoring, advocating for meaningful employment, monitoring placements, overcoming barriers, and supporting recruitment efforts.
Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and support the implementation of a Cultural Awareness training program that provides opportunity for team members to enhance their understanding of First Nations cultures and issues
- Assist internal stakeholders with development of policies that support inclusion of First Nations team members, suppliers and other businessesDevelop and design First Nations engagement and events plan such as National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC week
**What you’ll bring:
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated a successful track record in a similar position where you have developed a First Nations employment program, ideally in a fasted paced corporate environment. You are a natural leader with sound understanding of First Nations history, heritage and culture the ability to influence across key stakeholder groups.
In addition, your skills and attributes would include:
- Knowledge of the First Nations labour market, programs and employment providers
- Outstanding written, verbal communication and influencing skills
- Exceptional organisational, planning and project management skills
- The capability to interpret and analyse quantitative data
- Ability to build trust and relationships at all levels including a diverse range of stakeholdersExperience in the health sector / retail environment is desirable
