As the National Store Design Manager, you will partner closely with both the construction and project management teams, effectively working side by side in a fast paced, ever changing environment. You will have a flexible approach and be excited by the once in a lifetime opportunity to shape our stores, Myer Exclusive Brands and experience working with International Brands too

Reporting to the EGM, Property, Store Design & Development, this position will lead the design direction for Myer, delivering world-class retail design concepts and solutions, in line with our successful customer first strategy.

**Day to day tasks include**:

- Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of design briefs including Myer standards and developers brief
- Develop and manage Myer concepts, including presentation sketches, technical documentation and specifications for project approval
- Lead continuous improvement and cost efficiencies
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, consultants, shopfitters and contractors to ensure all designs are in line with strategy
- Oversee all design related activities to ensure that tenders are carried out according to scope and budget
- Working with external brand partners to review and approve brand submissions to enhance the retail experience and appearance of Myer stores
- Lead the team to ensure follow through for each project, ensuring design detailing is executed through the construction phases
- Lead team to high performance through regular and effective coaching, feedback, mentoring and training

**Your experience**:

- Retail design experience
- Ability to lead and motivate a small team
- A degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of retail or product design in terms of fixture design, lighting, finishes and signage
- Excellent understanding of construction means and methods including a strong knowledge of relevant regulations, codes and legislation (i.e. BCA requirements and knowledge of building codes in different states would be beneficial)
- Exceptional concept design skills, a proven track record of managing design solutions and delivering projects
- Excellent verbal, written and visual communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Strong visual presentation skills including perspective sketching, graphic design and rendering (hand or computer generated)
- Effective time management and an ability to multi-task and prioritise
- Ability and willingness to respond and deliver under tight timeframes

This position will bring together your design experience and commercial prowess. You will be someone who is always looking to innovate, improve costs and implement process efficiencies, whilst enhancing the retail experience and overall appearance of our stores. Working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including our brand partners, you will bring a balanced approach to your design concepts that meet the needs of all parties.
