**The City of Melville has two** **exciting opportunities within the Strategic Planning team to project manage and otherwise support the delivery of strategic planning projects, in particular the review of the City’s Local Planning Scheme.**

As an Urban Planning Projects Officer, you will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and managing projects related to the strategic urban planning, as well as;
- Developing and reviewing planning instruments, strategies, and policies.
- Providing direct support to the Senior Strategic Urban Planners with a specific focus on the review of the City’s Local Planning Scheme No. 6.
- Using your planning experience to identify opportunities to improve the existing local planning framework.
- Designing and implementing community engagement strategies to ensure the successful delivery of Strategic Planning Projects.
- Coordinating and leading multi-disciplinary cross-functional teams in pursuit of delivering project outcomes.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Previous experience in a Statutory or Strategic planning role.
- High level problem-solving skills.
- Significant leadership experience, particularly in regards to project management.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- High level analytical and research skills.
- Demonstrated high level experience in stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant Local and State Planning legislation, regulations, and policies.
- Experience in the use of the Microsoft suite of products.
- High level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in Urban Planning or equivalent.
- IAP2 Certificate of Engagement (Desirable)
- Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence (Desirable)
