**This position is open to internal NSW Health permanent employees, or temporary employees who have been employed as part of a merit based selection process for more than 3 months.**
**Where you'll be working**
Health Protection NSW works to prevent exposure to, and minimise impact of, infectious and environmental hazards. HPNSW works closely with public health units in local health districts in the development, implementation and evaluation activities to protect public health.
**About the Role**
NSW Health is undertaking a program of work to strengthen and develop integrated statewide solutions to support disease surveillance and public health response activities. This will be critical to ensure NSW remains capable of detecting and responding rapidly to control infectious disease outbreaks and continues at the forefront of pandemic preparedness. The Public Health Network Engagement Officer will be responsible for engagement across the public health network to ensure public health stakeholder requirements are at the centre of surveillance and response systems.

**Selection Criteria**
- Extensive public health experience and a record of achievement in an engagement role within a large and complex service environment.
- Proven capacity to contribute to and implement strategic initiatives, including the capability to plan and manage change.
- Capability to initiate project communication activities to build awareness among program teams and key stakeholders, improve program understanding and promote goals, values, and objectives of the public health network.
- Strong customer focused skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to manage conflicting stakeholder priorities and build trust.
- Ability to work well as a member of a large team, to collaborate and share knowledge.
