**About the Opportunity**

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Marketing, the VIP Donors and Bequests Manager is responsible for donor acquisition and stewardship activities to secure mid to high value donations and create and implement a strategic bequest program. You will identify, scope and research prospective VIP donors, develop an effective strategy for each prospect, nurture relationships with existing donors, build a sustainable portfolio of confirmed bequests, and maintain connections with bequestors, executors and trustees.

Your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

- Creating and implementing programs to acquire, nurture and steward VIP donors
- Using relationship-building and communication skills to increase donors' value and length of support
- Developing and executing a bequest fundraising strategy and identifying and cultivating bequest prospects through a variety of channels
- Working cross-functionally to ensure that donor programs and bequest fundraising are promoted effectively through advertising, collateral, appropriate communication journeys, events and third-party referrals
- Promoting a positive image of SAHMRI through professional, efficient and friendly customer service

**About You**

This role will suit a passionate, people-focused communicator who can identify, scope and research prospective mid-to-high-value donors, nurture relationships with existing donors, build a sustainable portfolio of confirmed bequests, and maintain connections with bequestors, executors and trustees.

We’re seeking a confident and motivated fundraiser with a solid donor-centric approach, a love of forming positive, long-lasting relationships and a capacity to articulate and communicate SAHMRI’s vision of helping everyone live longer, happier, healthier lives.

In addition to the above, to be successful in this role you will have/be:

- Minimum two years’ experience in a donor relationship management role
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a clear, communicative and collaborative style and the ability to form strong relationships with a diverse range of people
- Excellent attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of engaging and recognising supporters in an appropriate manner
- Excellent written communication skills
- Possess the ability to identify philanthropic opportunities and develop them into potential support
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence

It would also be great if you:

- Have a relevant tertiary qualification
- Are a member of FIA or similar fundraising organisation

- Some out-of-hours work may be required.
- DCSI Employment Screening and Police Checks may be required.
