**The Role**
Defence Finance Group (DFG) leads financial operations, management and performance across Defence, delivering financial, strategies, management and business partnering services. DFG is undertaking an APS5/6 recruitment round for various vacancies within the Enabling Groups Branch specifically supporting the following areas:
- Defence Executive Support (DES) Group is responsible for Defence enterprise planning, performance and risk management functions and the running of the business of Defence. This includes the integration of all enabling services - ICT, finance, estate, human resources, legal, audit, ministerial and parliamentary services, media and communications, and data. Our key client is the Associate Secretary and the Divisions that report directly to him including Enterprise Transformation, Ministerial Executive functions, Integrity Division, Data Division, the Defence and Veteran Suicide Task Force, the Judge Advocate General, Director Military Prosecutions, Legal Division and many others. Working in this team will provide you with broad exposure to a number of high-profile clients.
- Defence People Group (DPG) delivers human resource outcomes across the Defence employment cycle from strategy and policy development, through to implementation and service delivery by four Divisions within the Group. The support of the Defence workforce includes approximately 62,000 military personnel and their families and 17,000 civilian personnel. The Defence workforce is Defence’s highest priority and working to support this Group will provide exposure to the range of functions, initiatives and services supporting one of the largest workforces in Australia.
**About our Team**
The Branch is within the Financial Performance and Management (FPM) Division which is responsible for delivering financial advice and performance reporting to Groups and Services, Ministers and other government departments, across all Defence programs and activities including workforce, capital, and sustainment and operating budgets.
As an APS 5 Financial Officer or APS 6 Financial Advisor in the FP&M division you will combine your passion for finance with your passion for stakeholder management. You will have an ability analyse and interpret financial information such as budgets and management reporting and enjoy working with others to understand complex issues, analysing results and an ability to communicate your findings. As an APS 5 Financial Officer or APS 6 Financial Advisor you will assist our clients by undertaking a range of financial analysis tasks and activities.
