A major part of the job is providing expert advice to senior management and stakeholders to ensure preventive health efforts tackle the burden of chronic disease effectively in Queensland.
The role also includes leading collaboration with internal and external partners to boost preventive health efforts and improve policy implementation and evaluation.
In addition to technical skills, the role requires strong leadership in managing change, building team skills, and creating a positive work environment.
The successful personTo excel in this role, you must possess advanced knowledge, expertise, and skills in crafting effective solutions to complex statewide preventive health policy issues. You should have a proven ability to independently drive strategic change by leveraging strong communication, consultation, and negotiation skills, as well as by shaping policy or program reforms, fostering innovation, and promoting quality improvement.
Additionally, you should demonstrate a strong ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, all contributing to the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders. Your leadership skills should include successfully managing a small team, setting clear direction, motivating and inspiring staff, and fostering an environment where employees feel valued, developed, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
