
Health Promotion Officer

Collaborating with national partners, government departments, public health units, and community organisations, you will help build preventive health capacity and enhance the delivery of immunisation policies and interventions. You will also cultivate strategic partnerships with stakeholders and contribute to a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive work environment that aligns with contemporary human resource practices. The role requires adherence to Queensland Health's service quality, occupational health, and safety standards, ensuring safe and high-quality services and workplaces.
The successful personTo succeed in this role, you will have proven expertise in the development, management, and assessment of health promotion policies, programs, and initiatives that support immunisation efforts. You will also have shown a strong ability to consult with and provide expert advice to both internal and external stakeholders, while leading policy reforms, fostering innovation, and promoting quality and service improvements.
Additionally, you will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships across Queensland's public health system. You should also demonstrate the capacity to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on fostering a positive team culture and shared responsibility for achieving results. The Queensland Public Health and Scientific Services Division (QPHaSS) of the department brings together the medical specialties of pathology and forensic medicine, scientific testing, key system support functions and the surveillance, prevention and control of communicable diseases and public health risks in Queensland. QPHaSS leads statewide planning and coordination of programs and services to prevent, diagnose and control diseases, hazards and harmful practices and enhance protective health factors to promote the overall health and wellbeing of Queenslanders.
