Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report. - **Project Overview**: - Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets. The M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world. - **Job Summary**: - In this role, you will participate in the planning, staffing, and budgeting of project expediting operations. You will distribute workload, monitor assignments, evaluate production schedules and progress, and develop procedures. You will contact suppliers, initiate follow-up, monitor quality, and prepare supplier evaluations. Your planning and problem solving will ensure expediting operations meet project needs.- _ This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual nd their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership_ - **Major Responsibilities**: - Participates in the planning, staffing, and budgeting of project and area expediting operations for medium sized projects - Represents Expediting at project team meetings - Distributes workload to assigned project expeditors according to the experience and ability of the expeditor, the degree of complexity of the work and the urgency of the need for action - Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data, and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment - Evaluates production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if suppliers’ programs and work progress meet jobsite requirements - Expedites Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval, and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers - Participates in pre - and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates - Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative- ** Education and Experience Requirements**: - Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience- **Required Knowledge and Skills**: - Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of complex issues in creative and effective ways - Prior experience with Project set-up and/or project expediting in an EPC environment is preferred - Prior experience in an expediting role or performing post-award administration of engineered equipment purchase orders is preferred. ** Total Rewards/Benefits**: - For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond Because our teams face some of the world's toughest challenges, we offer robust benefits to ensure our people thrive.
