Duties and responsibilities we'll trust you with
- Delivering high quality statewide and targeted building capability programs for public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres to ensure that appropriate, innovative and inclusive services and programs are provided while meeting SLQ's service commitments with a focus on the delivery of the First 5 Forever program.
- Participating in the high performing Young People and Families team in the development of sustainable and cost-effective programs while ensuring professional and responsive services to clients. This includes undertaking day-to-day work, achieving key service objectives and meeting organisational priorities
- Participating in the design and development of innovative and interactive program materials, supplies, guides and other resources for implementation and delivery onsite or in public library spaces. This includes the development of instructions, schedules and supporting materials to increase the knowledge, capability and capacity of local government and public library staff in working with children, young people and families and in the delivery of the First 5 Forever program.
- Developing and coordinating professional development programs and workshops, to ensure local government and public library services meet the required standards. This includes developing a suite of materials to be delivered online and/or face to face by the Young People and Families team.
- Supporting and assisting the State Library teams in the creation of more complex programs and workshops as well as assisting in the design of materials and supporting documentation.
- Reviewing, evaluating and reporting on current programs to ensure that they meet State Library's service delivery targets. This includes measuring client satisfaction levels, attendance quotas, quality standards and operational objectives
- Collaborating and building strong relationships with local government, key stakeholders and public library staff to ensure that content of the programs and resources are targeted, relevant and appropriate for service delivery. This includes researching community needs, demographic and statistics, trends in library services - internationally, nationally and locally to provide cohesive program delivery.
- Contributing to the team's annual program schedule and participating in the Branch planning process to ensure that relevant, appropriate and meaningful programs and resources are delivered to public library communities.
- Participating in internal committees, projects and working groups while collaborating with other teams across State Library. Providing high quality external stakeholder engagement ensuring State Library is represented in various forums including working with clients across different levels and roles.
- Contributing to business improvement activities ensuring relevant policies, procedures and guidelines meet best practice and State Library requirements. This includes a continuous improvement cycle for feedback, raising concerns and generating solutions.
- Working effectively with colleagues and peers while contributing to a productive and positive work environment in times of change and uncertainty. This includes being a proactive member of the Young People and Families team.
- Participating in, contributing to and/or managing financial, human resource and/or ICT responsibilities as per the organisational delegations.
