**Duties and responsibilities of the role**:

- Delivering high quality statewide and targeted programs to public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centre staff to ensure that appropriate, innovative and inclusive services and programs are provided while meeting State Library's service commitments
- Participating in the high performing Local Government Coordination team in the development of sustainable and cost-effective policy and programs while ensuring professional and responsive services to clients. This includes undertaking day to day work, achieving key service objectives and meeting organisational priorities
- Developing and coordinating professional development programs and workshops, to ensure local government and public library services meet the standards. This includes developing a suite of materials to be delivered online and/or face to face by the Local Government Coordination team.
- Collaborating and building strong relationships with local government, key stakeholders and public library staff to ensure that content of the policies and standards are targeted, relevant and appropriate for service delivery. This includes researching community needs, demographic and statistics, trends in library services - internationally, nationally and locally as well as researching local and/or regional history to provide cohesive program delivery
- Contributing to the team's annual program schedule and participating in the Branch planning process to ensure that relevant, appropriate and meaningful policies and programs are delivered to public library communities
