About the role
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Grants Manager works with the Fundraising Director, Philanthropy Manager and CEO to meet annual fundraising targets.
- Grant Planning & Development_
- Develop processes, protocols and workflows to fulfil a newly designed organisation-wide holistic and consolidated grants program.
- Research and scope potential philanthropic, government and corporate grant opportunities.
- Assist in the annual review of organisational future funding priorities and develop grant funding strategies to meet these priorities.
- Work with the team to identify funding needs and opportunities throughout the year.
- Work with relevant staff to develop and update Cases for Support.
- Grants Administration_
- Administer the GEMS (Grants Expertise Management Systems) Portal and Calendar, and Salesforce Grants and Foundations records and reports.
- Coordinate all acquittal and reporting to external funding bodies. Manage a Reporting Schedule, and work with staff to report back to grant funders in a timely and impactful manner.
- Grantseeking Management_
- Develop and maintain relationships with funding entities’ key decision makers, and support staff relationships with key funders.
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and Campaigners to assist in the planning and execution of submissions and final reports.
- Grantmaking Management_
- Develop process, protocols and documentation to design a grantmaking process for AMCS to support on-the-ground marine conservation projects or research with third-party agencies and groups.
- Reporting_
- Provide regular reports to the CEO, Fundraising Director, Campaigns Director and Board on grant program performance.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
Essential Selection Criteria
- At least two years experience administering, managing or sourcing grant funding.
- Demonstrated organisational, project and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the Australian grants and philanthropic giving environment and the ability to research and identify funding opportunities.
- Proven interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively and develop good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, practices and impact reporting.
- Commitment to achieving positive change and protection for the oceans, and upholding AMCS’ values.
