The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with planned production of up to 8 million tonnes of per annum. With approvals in place out to 2046, the mine targets high quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Maxwell is now seeking an energetic and skilled** Longwall Electrical Engineer** to be based at the Maxwell site, 10 minutes from the township of Muswellbrook. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this is a key role in our site-based engineering team.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**
- Key leadership role in the procurement of the longwall.
- Leading role in site operational readiness for longwall operations.
- Manage the electrical safety and compliance requirements of the longwall.
- Technical lead (electrical) for the longwall equipment and automation.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability through continuous improvement.
- Manage and coordinate the electrical resources in the longwall to achieve production performance, process and maintenance targets.
- Development and implementation of maintenance strategies.
- Budget development and cost control.
- Support the Longwall Superintendent to ensure business targets are achieved.

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Electrical engineering qualification (or currently in progress accompanied by an electrical trade certificate)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in underground coal mines
- Detailed knowledge of longwall technical and operational practices
- Strong technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
