**About the Role**:
Located in Stapylton QLD - the **Roads Maintenance Foreman **role is responsible for optimum production and financial outcomes through a consistent / strategic approach to delivering construction works and associated activities with effective supervision and scheduling of both direct and subcontractor workforces.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership in the delivery, recording and completion of asphalt and pavement patching activities ensuring effective claims with the client
- Engage with Client Transport and Traffic Management Centres to inform of proposed road restrictions as required.
- Managing Quality Assurance and Conformance including the keeping of accurate record in accordance with the Quality Management Plan
- Monitoring and analysing time and resource utilisation including materials in line with operated allocation system and ensuring cost/ value analysis is undertaken on jobs and activities
- Monitoring performance and re-assessing efficiency, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary
- Conducting regular toolbox talks addressing safety, quality and performance standards and issues
- Planning and scheduling own and team’s work to meet required timelines and outputs through prioritising activities against weekly / monthly programs and liaison with appropriate project staff.
- Assist operational teams to prepare and implement plans to ensure compliance to program.
- Act as mentor, consistently support and develop own team
- Maintaining productive relationships with Ventia QTSC team, Clients, customers, contractors and other key stakeholders
- Take a lead role in meeting with the Client and providing innovative solutions.

**Key Skills and Experience**:

- Cert III in Road Construction & Maintenance or approved equivalent (Essential)
- Cert IV in Supervision (Desirable)
- Extensive Traffic Management knowledge
- Extensive Road Surfacing / Construction / Maintenance experience in a leadership / supervisory position
- Australian Open Driver’s License
- 10+ years road construction works experience
- Strong ability to multitask, prioritise, meet targets, and deadlines
- Understanding of standard subcontracting arrangements, including time, quality, cost and claim requirements. Ability to manage subcontractors to subcontract requirements
- Excellent communicator who has well developed listening, oral and written skills
- Able to think ahead and anticipate issues and make meritorious qualitative and timely decisions
