Hse Advisor

**About the Role**

Ventia has an exciting opportunity for a HSE Advisor to join and support our Queensland Transport South Coast operations team.

The team is currently delivering Road Asset Management and Pavement Maintenance activities on behalf of the Qld Department of Transport and Main Roads and Brisbane Airport Corporation in the South Coast Queensland area.

**Duties**

The primary purpose of the HSE Advisor is to support the SHEQ and Operational teams in implementing and maintaining Ventia’s SHEQ management systems and processes, deliver on KPIs, reporting, training compliance and contractor management compliance.

Key duties include, but are not limited to:

- Undertake investigations in relation to incidents and provide recommendations through the leadership team
- Work with Ventia project officers to ensure that construction works adhere to safety requirements.
- Conduct field inspections and complete audits on contractor works and management systems.
- Implement processes to ensure communication and adherence with legislations, regulations, and standards, to foster a culture of safety and health above all else.
- Undertake aspects of Environment and Quality function

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary Qualification in Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety
- Formal training in incident investigation ICAM methodology
- Experience in road construction or maintenance environments will be well regarding
- Knowledge of TMR standards and legislation
- Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards within a high-risk construction environment
- Ability to develop and execute strategies to ensure compliance, minimise risk and drive continuous improvement.
