Environment & Sustainability Advisor

We require an experience Environmental and Sustainability Advisor to join our team based in Stapylton. This role will see you working on the QLD Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) and Pavement Assets on behalf of Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) contracts.

**About the Role**
This role supports the delivery of road construction and maintenance to high environmental and sustainability standards. Identifying, investigating and managing environmental risks and assists in the development of environmental and sustainability site documentation, training and awareness. A flexible approach to working hours is necessary to facilitate delivery of project work during closures and interfaces with operational periods.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Driving a positive safety, health and environment focused team culture and complying with all company HSEQ policies and procedures.
- Continuously develop the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), and review for adequacy as new projects are secured.
- Develop, implement and monitor environment and sustainability strategies and actions plans.
- Assist in the identification and reporting of environment risks, facilitating development of risk controls, and incident investigations and associated controls.
- Develop and oversee the design related impact assessments and reports, including cultural heritage and environmental aspects.
- Development of construction plans focussing on environmental and sustainability elements of the Site Project Management Plan.
- Maintain and promote awareness of environmental legislation, best practice, industry trends and innovations.
- Assessing local and state government requirements in managing environmental aspects and impacts.
- Conduct audits and inspections of project sites to ensure compliance.
- Provide mentoring, training and guidance to the leadership team to deliver industry best practice in environmental and sustainability aspects.
- Participate and contribute to an effective and productive team through collaboration.

**About You**
To be successful in this role you must:

- Hold a tertiary qualification in Environmental Science / Engineering or similar field.
- Be a certified Environmental Auditor (preferred by not a requirement).
- Have a minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar role working on TMR (RAMC & TIC) works or equivalent client contracts.
- Demonstrate proven environmental related experience on road and pavement construction projects.
- Have sound knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Be a strong communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Nurture professional relationships with all stakeholders.
- Have personal drive, commitment and motivation to excel in your deliverables.
