**Description**:
At Carma, we’re more than just a car company, we’re on a mission to shake up the Australian automotive industry As a digital pre-owned car dealership, we’re turning the car buying and selling experience into a hassle-free, seamless journey that customers can truly enjoy. With our diverse and collaborative team managing everything from engineering to marketing and buying to reconditioning in-house, we’re powered by the best people and we’d love for you to come along for the ride.
As our **Mechanical Repair Lead,** you’ll lead our team of Technicians, driving high-quality repairs with a focus on efficiency and teamwork. This hands-on role means supporting and guiding the team while jumping in when needed to keep things moving. As the go-to expert, you’ll solve complex mechanical issues, maintain quality standards, and work closely with other leads to keep the workshop running smoothly.
**What you'll be doing**:
- Leading a solid team of Technicians—keeping repairs sharp, efficient, and up to Carma standards (the high ones).
- Being the go-to when things get tricky—whether it’s a tough job or a stuck bolt, you’re there.
- Keeping the workflow smooth with smart planning, so the day runs without surprises.
- Spotting ways to work better, faster, smoother—and helping the team grow while you’re at it.
- Keeping quality tight with attention to detail and providing clear, constructive feedback to help the team improve
**Okay, let's talk about you**:
- 5+ years as a qualified mechanic; leadership experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman, or Senior Tech is a plus.
- Sharp with diagnostics and repairs—no matter the make or model, you’ve likely seen it (and fixed it) before.
- You’ve got a sharp eye for detail, communicate clearly, and know how to guide and support a team without missing a beat.
- Organised, solution-focused, and passionate about continuous improvement
- You have a valid Full NSW driver's licence and can drive Manual.
**What's in it for you?**:
- We love social events, from parties to go-karting and bake sales, there’s something for everyone.
- Score amazing deals on cars, finance options and other car parts, we’re a car company after all
- Great work-life balance: 38 hours per week, so you have time to switch off. Voluntary overtime available
At Carma, we’re all about fostering an amazing culture, where you can bring your best self to work We value collaboration, innovation and having a laugh at work. Plus, we’re committed to diversity, inclusion and safe work practices, so no matter your background or experience (or car brand of choice), we’d love to hear from you. Please let us know if you need any reasonable adjustments during the interview process.
