The Role
We're seeking an experienced and motivated
Workshop Supervisor
to join our NSW Service team. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll oversee day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are achieved. You'll work closely with the Workshop Manager to plan workloads, support your team, and deliver outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate service and repair activities.
  • Maintain workshop efficiency by scheduling and allocating work effectively.
  • Ensure all work meets Freighter Group quality standards prior to release.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of tradespeople and apprentices.
  • Drive a strong safety culture - ensure correct PPE use and compliance with OH&S.
  • Inspect finished work and liaise with leading hands to resolve issues.
  • Support continuous improvement in workshop productivity and processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and customers.

About You

  • Trade-qualified Vehicle Body Builder (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the heavy vehicle, trailer, or transport industry.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a heavy vehicle workshop.
  • Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office and ERP system skills.
