**The Role**:
As the new Area Business Manager, you will be responsible for the overall financial performance of the business unit in Canberra. While this role holds accountabilities at General Management level, the core function of the role is to drive the business growth. You will report directly to the Regional General Manager with a direct line to the Chief Operating Officer and have 5 direct reports to you. This role has the benefit of a terrific corporate structure with clear delegation to ensure that, as a manager, you are able to partner with divisional experts to successfully run the Business Unit here in Canberra.
Your core duties & responsibilities will include:
- Business planning
- Heavily focussed in sales and managing and driving the sales team

**What you will need to succeed**:
- Experience and ability to drive a multi-functional team, especially a sales team
- Strong sales and sales management experience
- Experience in planning and executing business strategies for differing market sectors
- High level of drive, self-motivation and a desire to win
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient Microsoft skills
- Coaching experience
- Ability to undergo pre-employment screening if requested by the employer
- Communicate with influence
**About You**:
You're a driven professional with a keen eye for commercial opportunity with the finesse to win business and manage relationships in a consultative and solutions focused manner. You'll be able to demonstrate:
- Successful business management experience
- You have experience in driving your B2B Sales team and possess skills in Key Accounts Management and Business Development at Executive and C-Suite level
- Strong local networks, ideally in the commercial construction and property space
- Knowledge of commercial construction and property; building, maintenance and remediation
- Proven people leadership experience
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
While the role is primarily focused on the immediate Canberra area it may involve some regional travel.
