**The opportunity**

Our client is a community focused Federal Government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS5 level Communications Officer to join the team.

12-month initial contract with opportunity for extension. The position can be based out of either Richmond or Geelong, paying an hourly rate of $53.63 per + Super.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting business areas across the Participant Experience Delivery Group and Partner and Contact Centre Division to understand their communication needs, assisting with the delivery of Corporate Plan aspirations and objectives
- Supporting the development, implementation, tracking and measurement of communications strategies to help keep them on time
- Contributing to the regular development, delivery and review of communications and engagement content through established communication channels
- Preparing high-quality, clear and accessible written content aligned to approved communications and engagement plans
- Maintaining strong internal and external networks to facilitate development and delivery of effective, targeted and timely communication activities
- Analysing communications outcomes and participating in discussions within your team on how to build improvements into future activities
- Fostering creativity and innovation in content creation across a range of channels
- Other tasks as required by the division.

**About you**
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Communications experience essential
- Public service and Government experience favoured.
- Background within Government or Disability beneficial
- Team leadership experience
- Australian citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position
