Our state government client is looking for an experienced Weed Management Coordinator for a one-year assignment with the possibility of extension. As the Weed Management Coordinator, you will coordinate the implementation of the weed action plan and develop a 12 months work program that will englobe weed species priority and sites, treatments and deadlines.

**About the Role**:
As the Weed Management Coordinator, you will coordinate the implementation of the weed action plan and develop a 12 months work program that will englobe weed species priority and sites, treatments and deadlines.

**Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:

- Prepare assessment, maps and coordinating the provision of environmental approval/plannings permits that is required.
- Coordinating the preparation of FFG and EPBC referrals for works to protect flora or fauna
- Assessing risk and implement weed management actions
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on weed action delivery plan and problem solving on matters such as complaints, notices
- Sourcing, engaging and monitoring contractor performance on delivery of the weed action plan
- Monitoring the overall success of the Weed Action Plan
- Advise on improvement, update and maintaining the progress including capturing weed management work data on ArcGis and in internal documents and systems.
- Maintain accurate records of vegetation management works in GIS

**Skills/ Requirements**
- Knowledge of weed species and appropriate treatment methods
- Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Botany, Natural Resource Management or related discipline desirable
- Demonstrable experience in program or contract management relating to bushland or reserve management.
- Experience in the implementation of bushland management plans or strategies

This role will require a mixture of office based work and field work (across the state). A hybrid environment is on offer.
