**Overview**

This role will report to the Manager, First Line Risk to perform First Line Risk activity across APAC Operations. It will partner with management, in a First Line Risk capacity, to perform risk activity internally within APAC Operations.

In addition to the development of comprehensive policies, procedures, training, protocols, internal investigations, plans the role will implement risk mitigation strategies and processes in conjunction with direction from the Manager, First Line Risk.

**Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities**
- Perform internal investigations in terms of the risks that are being done by the company and its effect in the operations and the overall functions of different areas of the business;
- Under the guidance of your manager, develop strategies, processes, and policies that will be helpful for the company’s risk management procedures;
- Provide analysis that will assure that the risk management approach being used by the company in decision-making processes with regards to the business are effective and efficient;
- In conjunction with your manager, propose and suggest improvements in terms of the risk management processes being used by the company to assure the organisational achievement in this area.
- This role will be key in building the profile of the team in the organisation and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders. It will be expected that they will contribute ideas to the development and implementation of a robust First Line Risk management framework in addition to providing constructive recommendations focussed on internal control as well as value add recommendations to help the business achieve its objectives.
- The role will form part of, and collaboratively contribute to, the Operational Integrity team that is responsible for the overall management of all activities that form part of our Control, Assurance and Governance frameworks within APAC Operations. This role will work to actively drive down Risk within our business with support and direction from manager, First Line Risk and National Manager, Operational Integrity.

Strategic Focus
- Plan and align with Manager, First Line Risk to drive forward with governance and framework for First Line Risk
- Align with other teams within Operational Integrity to push forward with our ‘Risk as a mindset’ approach

Operational Management
- Under direction of Manager, produce analysis in preparation for production of packs & insights for Technology & Operations Risk Committee, Corporate Markets Business Risk Committee, R&SS Business Risk Committee and other audit and committee meetings as required
- Train departmental risk champions on implementation
- Proactively identify emerging risks through analysis and report to relevant stakeholders
- Monitor implementation of action plans to ensure risk mitigation efforts are proceeding as required
- Actively tracking all outstanding mitigations and treatments
- Working closely with our Risk partners at a Line Two level
- Liaise with departmental heads in ensuring completion of risk registers on a quarterly basis and produce data as needed to support this activity and inform decisions
- Production of presentations, as and when, required
- Conduct Assurance mapping activities as directed by Manager, First Line Risk across APAC Operations
- Establish positive working relationships with key stakeholders in the business and helping to design strategies to enhance decision making, promote a positive culture and drive the effective management of risks within the business
- Under direction of Manager, First Line Risk, collaborate with the business to help distil complex problems into simple and manageable actions that result in optimal business outcomes. The focus of these reviews may include more common areas such as key risks to the business or organisation, or more complex or ambiguous reviews or investigations that arise on an ad-hoc basis
- Conduct root cause analysis and insights from information and data and generate meaningful conclusions
- Make recommendations and assist with building remediation plans
- Work with the business and provide insight to drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation

People Leadership
- Support staff to ensure they are meeting all required risk activities across the business
- Communicate effectively so staff are all clearly working towards same objectives and aligned to the needs of the business, with the ability to adapt and shift as needed

Governance & Risk
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
- Support Link Group assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices
- Monitor and report on compliance with regulatory requirements to Line Two where required
