Job Description The Line 1 Risk Analyst – Product will support the Product team in managing operational and non-financial risks within the first line of defence. This role ensures that product design, delivery and lifecycle management are executed in line with Product Governance framework, risk frameworks, regulatory obligations and Defence Banks risk appetite. Your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): - Risk identification, assessment and management across the Product life cycle. - Partner with Product Managers and key stakeholders to manage risks and compliance obligations, embedding risk considerations into day-to-day decision-making - Assist in the design and implementation of effective controls to manage product – related risks, and conducting and coordinating control testing and assurance activities - Ensure adherences to regulatory requirements (e.g., ASIC, APRA, ACCC) and internal risk frameworks, monitoring for relevant emerging regulatory changes - Partner with Compliance, Legal and Line 2 Risk to ensure appropriate challenge and oversight - Prepare risk and compliance reports for product governance forums and risk committees The newly created Risk Analyst role will play a critical role in safeguarding our Bank, embedding a strong risk culture, driving proactive risk management, and safeguarding positive member and business outcomes Desired Skills and Experience About You You are a passionate Risk Analyst professional who has a high attention to detail who is comfortable working within a newly established dedicated Experience and Product team You will utilise your problem-solving skills to overcome challenges. Your energy, commitment and level-headed approach ensures you thrive in this dynamic environment. You have: - At least 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience in risk, compliance or product governance within banking or financial services - Knowledge of regulatory obligations and requirements applicable to financial services (e.g., ASIC, APRA, consumer protection laws) - Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and the three lines of defence model - Proven ability to identify, track, monitor risk incidents and issues, assess impact and manage timely resolution - Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Risk, Commerce or related field You will also have demonstrated experience or skills in: - Contributing to initiatives that support our members through design and developments of controls and risk in change activities - Strong stakeholder engagement to manage current and emerging risks across different product portfolios - Being detail-oriented with ability to balance risk considerations with commercial objectives - Analysing situations and solving problems. - Working autonomously. - Self-managing your work to achieve deadlines.
