**About the Department**:

The Building, Construction and Maintenance category within the Department of Education supports the procurement lifecycle from planning to award in to upkeep of school infrastructure to ensure safe, functional, and modern learning environments. This includes a diverse range of activities from new school construction, major upgrades, ongoing maintenance, and asset management, all aligned with educational needs, compliance standards, and long-term planning.
**About the Role**:
As the Procurement Officer you will manage delivery of moderate to complex procurement projects including initial planning, development of relevant documentation, and establishment of contracts.
The Procurement Officer reports to the Principal Procurement Officer, Building, Construction and Maintenance, Procurement and Facilities Services, Finance, Procurement and Facilities Division.
**Responsibilities Include**:
Provide and assist in the delivery quality procurement advice and services covering; procurement planning activities, sourcing documentation development, release and evaluation processes and contract negotiation, formation, management and administration activities.
Provide advice to clients in a relevant, timely and accurate manner on matters relating to the procurement function.
Advise branch staff and clients on state and Department procurement policies and practices, internal branch processes and templates used to deliver procurement services to client.
Maintain a detailed documentary record of procurement processes, decisions and contractual arrangements undertaken ensuring the audit trail is adequately maintained and documented for probity, accountability and audit purposes
Exercise a procurement delegation.
**About You**:
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following qualities, skills and experience:
A working knowledge of the Queensland Government's Procurement Framework (or similar), processes, policy and legislation, tender and contracting procedures and contract management processes.
Well organised, able to multi-task with demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and effectively manage competing priorities.
A confident communication style with the ability to tailor correspondence and advice across management levels; and
You will have experience as an active team member working within an inclusive team environment.
