**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 5 Logistics Operations Coordinator within Property Services Branch.

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) supports the functions of the Australian Parliament and the work of parliamentarians through the provision of professional services, advice and facilities, the ongoing maintenance of Australian Parliament House (APH); and makes the building, and the important activity that takes place within it, accessible.

DPS is seeking to recruit a highly motivated team member for the role of Logistics Operations Coordinator, within the Maintenance Services Section of the Property Services Branch located at APH in Canberra. The logistics section of the Maintenance Services Section plays a pivotal role in support of APH daily by delivering efficient and effective logistics services and loading dock operations to parliamentarians, building occupants and visitors.

As part of the Logistics team, the successful applicants will be required to coordinate the day to day activities of the Australian Parliament House (APH) Loading Dock ensuring all deliveries are received, documented, and dispatched in accordance with approved policies and procedures, and within required timeframes,

**Who we are looking for**:

- Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders and ensure the highest level of customer service is achieve.
- Assist with the development of policy and procedures applicable to goods receipt, distribution and storage, and operation of manual handling equipment
- Assist the Logistics Manager in Department of Parliamentary asset disposal processes and the coordination of furniture relocations,
- The successful applicant will be well presented, professionally courteous and possess a high level of customer service experience, particularly with a wide range of internal and external clients.
- They will work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment, requiring flexibility to meet the daily challenges presented in delivering this very important service.

**Job Specific Requirements**:

- The successful applicant must have, and be able to maintain, a current drivers licence and a licence to perform high risk work (forklift).
- Manual handling duties may be required during peak times or staff shortages. The successful applicant must demonstrate the physical capacity to perform the full range of duties including (but not limited to) pulling, pushing, bending, and lifting and will be required to undertake a medical assessment to determine fitness for duty prior to appointment.
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 5 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Australian Parliament House (APH) Loading Dock, ensuring all deliveries are received, documented, and dispatched in accordance with approved policies and procedures, and within required timeframes.
- Oversee the scheduling of deliveries through the APH Loading Dock to achieve continuous, timely and the safe workflow of delivery traffic.
- Manage, schedule and train the logistics team, performing their administrative requirements and ensuring the highest standards of approved Work Health Safety (WHS) practices are adhered to.
- Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders, liaising professionally on issues relevant to the APH Loading Dock's operations to achieve positive customer outcomes.
- Assist with the development of policy and procedures applicable to goods receipt, distribution and storage, and operation of manual handling equipment.
- Assist the Logistics Manager in Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) assets disposal process and also the coordination of furniture relocations.
- Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._
