**Your role**
- We’re seeking a Communications Officer to join our team at the AHO. In this role, you’ll help develop and deliver effective internal and external communication strategies that reflect our values, priorities, and cultural integrity.
- A key focus of the role will be developing communication plans related to AHO programs and grants. You’ll help ensure communities and stakeholders are well-informed, supported, and engaged by creating clear, accessible messaging and communication resources.

**What you’ll do**
- Develop and implement innovative communication strategies that support key projects, engagement initiatives, and organisational change.
- Research, create, and distribute high-quality content across a range of internal and external communication channels.
- Improve communication tools, templates and digital channels to increase engagement and effectiveness.
- Provide expert advice and support to staff to ensure communication activities align with AHO priorities and cultural protocols.
- Work collaboratively across teams to develop content that promotes the AHO’s work and enhances community and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain high standards of professional conduct and ethical behaviour that foster trust in the AHO’s communications.

**What we’re looking for**
- Strong experience in communications, ideally in a government or community focused environment.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver communication plans for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external relationships and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Digital experience, including managing social media content.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver communications on time and within scope.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe is desirable but not essential
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of cultural safety and effective communication with Aboriginal communities.
