**About the role**

There has never been a more exciting time to join the NSW Police Force as we deliver the largest operational transformation the NSW Police Force has ever undertaken. The **2 x Communications Officers** play a key part in the newly developed communications team, consisting of a Communications Manager, Specialist, Project Coordinator and Editor. The role provides specialised and high-quality support to the Communications Team, through the delivery of timely and top-notch desktop publishing, development of multimedia communications, and graphic design services to create visually appealing materials that effectively convey the desired message.

Collaboration with your manager is essential in this role. The Communications Officer works closely with the manager to discuss creative development and job progress, including any changes or approvals requested by clients. Furthermore, the Communications Officer actively contributes to the establishment of corporate and command image requirements in all publications. Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in design and communication is essential to maintain a contemporary and professional image for the organisation.

In summary, the Communications Officer is a vital member of the team, providing specialized support and expertise in desktop publishing, multimedia, and graphic design. By effectively managing communication channels, sourcing visual elements, and maintaining brand consistency, the officer plays a crucial role in enhancing the command's image and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- Highly developed, professional skills with Adobe Creative Cloud design software, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
- Proved experience with multimedia capabilities, including sound, visual and other media tools.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows and 365 environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Experience in working within a high volume environment with competing priorities, agreed standards and tight timeframes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Obtain and maintain the requisite clearances for this position.
- Tertiary level qualifications in relevant discipline and/ or equivalent industry experience.
