**About the Team**
The Safety, Environment and Regulation division (SER) upholds safety and sustainability in our transport system. We’re working to deliver globally-recognised, safe, sustainable transport for our people, customers and the community.
Within SER we have one of the biggest branches, Regulatory Operations which is responsible for delivering and supporting risk-based, outcome focused road safety regulation and engage with industry and other stakeholders to enhance safety and compliance across the transport network. The branch:
- Drives efficient and effective delivery of regulatory services to ensure the competency of drivers, operators and vehicles that access the road network.
- Collaborates with other government agencies such as Service NSW to deliver a consistent, easy to navigate and digital approach to enhance customer experience.
- to deliver customer service improvements.
- Delivers risk-based regulatory activities and engage with industry and other road users to improve compliance and safety across the road network.
The Business Services Team supports the Branch across all of its activities.
**The opportunity**
Right now, we have an exciting opportunity in the Business Service Team for a Communications Officer who will be responsible for the design, implementation and execution of a communications framework to support the whole of Regulatory Operations.
You will be required to deliver a communications stream in line with the Department’s communications strategy using a variety of media-messaging through intranet sites, live streams, newsletters, web based communications, fact sheets and presentations which will be available and accessible to all stakeholders of the Branch.

**About you**
You will be an experienced communications professional who will be able to bring a range of communication solutions to develop communication plans and support the development of a range of materials for multiple channels, including but not limited to, newsletters, briefing documents, social media content, promotional articles and supporting resources.
Using your excellent written and verbal skills you will be providing hands on support to ensure consistent messaging which is timely, appropriate, accessible and easily understood by a wide variety of stakeholders.
You will have experience in preparation and/or review of media requests and material for engagement strategies (internal), ministerial enquiries and the preparation of a range of presentation material as well as guides & manuals, fact sheets, business plans and other adhoc requests. The branch is undergoing a large change process so experience in change communications is advantageous.
This will be a busy role with tight time constraints so you must be able to prioritise and manage your time well while being professional, helpful and meeting deadlines.
Your strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills will assist you in ensuring great relationships with not only stakeholders within the Branch and Divisions but also other Divisions including the Offices of the Deputy Secretary, the Secretary and Corporate Communications.
Ideally you will have experience working in a regulatory environment or one which has involved legislation, rules and regulations.

**Salary and Benefits**
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 7 ($108,770 - $121,822) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
