**Accountabilities include**:
- Lead and manage the development and implementation of effective maritime policy solutions.
- Lead and manage projects to develop strategic policy, frameworks and/or programs.
- Consult within MSQ in the development of a maritime policy and strategic reform agenda.
- Contribute to MSQ's work program and positioning activities across the department.
- Coordinate the identification, research and analysis of a broad range of opportunities, issues, risks and challenges.
- Prepare timely and well researched cabinet submissions, briefs and/or policy documents, and provide authoritative advice on MSQ's priorities, policies and challenges to the Minister, ministerial staff and executive management.
- Provide expert advice to the General Manager MSQ on waterways management legislative reforms.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders across the department, government, industry and community.
- Represent the department as required in relation to organisational and local, state and national transport issues and policies and legislative frameworks.
- Lead, manage and participate in project teams, comprising internal and external resources.
