Evaluation Project Officer

About the role
This role focuses on the development of supporting and implementing robust evaluation frameworks across new and emerging work within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child and family sector. This will include supporting ongoing action research that is being implemented across the organisation.
A typical day may include working with colleagues and members to develop monitoring and evaluation plans, collectively identifying action research questions and cycles to implement across work, cofacilitating action research meetings, scribing, analysing and producing evaluation reports aligned to the evaluation framework.
Desired skills, experience, and capabilities:
- Actively engage and build strong, effective, relationships with key stakeholders including QATSICPP staff, member organisations, research institutes and the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs.
- Lead the development and implementation of the evaluation framework and program logic for Delegated Authority and Family Caring for Family including leading and embedding action research processes
- Develop and undertake data collection using key evaluation methodologies that support culturally strong evaluation practice
- Work effectively with and provide support to staff across QATSICPP in identifying, collecting, and reporting on data to guide the monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of system and practice issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families within the context of child protection and youth justice
- Extensive experience in undertaking research and evaluation in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and/or child protection and juvenile justice
- Possession of a degree and/or post graduate studies in related content is highly desirable
- Ability to use qualitative software such as NVIVO or the capacity to attain this skill
- Other tasks as directed by the QATSICPP Program Implementation and Performance Director and/or CEO.
Mandatory Requirements:
- A current Queensland Working with Children Card (Blue Card) or eligible to apply
- High level qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis skills
