The Australian Bureau of Statistics is looking to fill the role of **Release Coordinator**.

This is an ongoing, permanent role at the APS 6 classification level. The successful applicant would be expected to work full-time hours. Flexible working arrangements, including a hybrid model of working from home and the office applies.

**About the role**

Working to the Release Manager, you’ll coordinate system releases for the Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) section, ensuring releases are coordinated, communicated, and are of a high quality with minimum possible outage.

The role will typically include the following duties:

- support the Release Manager in maintaining a release schedule, including planning for major project, regular planned BAU, and emergency releases
- collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define release scope and objectives
- communicate release plans, schedules, and status updates to stakeholders
- coordinate the delivery of releases, including planning, monitoring, reporting and risk/issue identification and management to ensure releases are delivered on time and meet quality expectations
- coordinate ‘on the day’ release activities, ensuring release and deployment plans are executed successfully and enacting contingency plans as appropriate
- coordinate release ‘go/no-go’ activities and documentation prior to major releases
- participate in change management practices to identify any upcoming releases impacting DAS and our stakeholders
- actively drive continuous improvement in the release process
- maintain documentation related to procedures on releases, various notification lists and dependencies
- participate in the Program Increment Planning and Scrum of Scrums (SoS) from a release management perspective.

Please note that this role does require some out of standard hours support during releases (compensated as per our Enterprise Agreement conditions).

**What we are looking for (selection criteria)**

This role will suit an ICT professional with experience in coordinating complex system releases. Those with experience in dedicated release coordination roles, or technical leads with equivalent experience, are encouraged to apply.

To be suitable you should have most or all the following skills, qualities and experience:

- release coordination experience in an enterprise environment
- well-developed stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- well-developed communication skills
- well-developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- ability to build and nurture positive working relationships
- experience working within an agile environment.
