Import / Export Administrator

This is an exciting opportunity for a Import/Export Administrator to join the Michael Hill International Logistics Team on a Full Time basis and be part of our transformational supply chain operation.

Reporting to the Group Customs, Quality and Transport Manager; the successful applicant will be responsible for the coordination of international shipments between our retail network and the Distribution Centres and also directly with our suppliers into both of our Australian and Canadian Distribution Centres, ensuring that both commercial and compliance obligations are met. This is a diverse and multifaceted role across an array of tasks that requires a high level of detail.

**More about the opportunity**:

- Ensure adherence & continued compliance to both internal standards and external legislative requirements across all trading markets
- Ensure there is a seamless approach to fulfilling international store shipments and their timeliness of delivery in conjunction with supplier imports and exports
- Liaise with custom brokers for import and export stock clearances
- Alert custom brokers to preclear incoming stock from suppliers where applicable.
- Enter details of incoming stock into relevant systems
- Ensure all applicable shipping paperwork has been received and follow up as required
- Manage all aspects of stock movements and clearances between multiple countries
- Duty drawbacks are completed upon exportation of goods where applicable, maximizing on monetary returns, whilst maintaining 100% compliance with each of the authorities

**More about you**:

- Strong knowledge of border security requirements and trade practice, freight forwarding and international logistics processes with a high level of attention to detail
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working within an import/export business, specifically dealing with cross border trade compliance
- Exposure working with 3PL Logistics and/or supply chain service providers
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, through verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally
- Exceptional work ethic, attention to detail, with excellent organisational skills and strong ability to prioritise tasks whilst maintaining confidentiality
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, (including APICS certifications) highly regarded but not essential
- Australian Customs Brokerage License / brokerage modules completed is highly regarded but not essential
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (exposure to Dynamics 365 and Expedient highly regarded)
