Glou - Sustainable Wine Dispensary

Glou is looking for a wine or hospitality professional with a keen interest in low-intervention wines and at least foundational but relevant wine knowledge. If you'd like to work with producers directly and are keen to see circular economy in action, this one's for you.

As we are growing, it is time to add another person to our pretty fabulous team. The role is currently designed as a part-time role for 3-4 days a week, but can grow to a full-time role (4-5 days, 35-38h/w).

Glou is a sustainable wine bar with an ancillary low-waste bottleshop. We exclusively work with Australian producers (wine, spirits, beer, produce) and with circular economy in mind. Having worked with wine previously or relevant wine knowledge is a must, but formal qualification is not needed. We are more than happy to get you through WSET, if that's what you desire.

What the role has to offer:

- we, where possible, take you to the wineries and distilleries

- your breaks are paid for and food's provided
- we pay for your WSET or equivalent qualifications you'd like to obtain
- we conduct regular paid (wine) training sessions in-house
- you are going to be part of creating new seasonal menu items
- you get to dive deeper into sustainable practices, not just in the vineyard, but also within a hospitality business and beyond
- you get to have a real say in the day-to-day and strategic operations: We foster a transformational management style
- you get to pet all of the dogs Collingwood has to offer

The role suits someone who:

- is self-motivated
- is punctual & organised
- is able to work self-sufficiently and thinks strategically
- understands a lot of aspects of the hospitality industry
- is kind to people and the environment
- is physically able to lift up to 32kg
- cares for the product and the hard work that goes into making wine
- is interested in the creation of thoughtful cocktails & non-alcoholic drinks
- has a valid VIC drivers license (and ideally can drive a manual)
- is fluent in English and enjoys talking to people
- has plenty of FoH experience

We here at Glou are an inclusive workplace, have a strict no-BS-policy and are continuesly working to improve Glou both for our customers as well as our team. We follow public health measures and expect you to do so, too. Our work contracts have a performance review and salary negotiation clause in it, which entitles you to performance reviews every 2 months and salary renegotiations every 6 months.
