Wine Consultant

MW Wines is currently seeking an experienced wine person to join our team during an exciting phase of growth. As Australia's largest independent wine auction house and supplier of fine and rare wines, the successful candidate will serve as a Wine Consultant, focusing on wine auctions and wine storage as well as assisting with retail sales of some of the great and iconic wines from Australia and the rest of the world.

·  Based in Collingwood, MW Wines runs a climate-controlled wine facility which also provides wine storage services to a wide range of customers

·  We are currently a small team of 7 people who are all passionate and knowledgeable wine professionals

The Role

· An integral part of the team, assisting with all operating aspects of the business, including:

o   Auctions: providing auction valuations, cataloguing wine to auction, monthly stocktake, taking payments, receiving, picking and packing stock, customer service, answering phone enquiries.

o   Retail: assisting with retail sales activities, receiving stock, sales, customer tastings and events.

o   Storage: Assisting customers, cataloguing wine to managed storage, picking orders from managed storage.

o   General duties such as basic admin and cleaning as required

· The role is full time, working 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday – Friday, one Saturday (9am to 1pm) per four weeks, plus evenings for customer tastings as required.

Skills and Experience

· Demonstrate a working knowledge of wine and keen to learn about wine from all over the world

· Likely come from a wine retail or trade background

· Strong customer service skills and experience

· Excellent written and clear verbal communication skills

· Someone who respects their peers and takes direction well

· Fits in well with our professional small team

· Be a team player that is always ready to assist in any aspect of a dynamic business

· Punctual and reliable

· Motivated and Hard working

· Attention to detail

· Organised
