Head of Enabling

**Position Overview**:
**Fixed term 3 year full-time position**
**Total Renumeration Package: From $225,000 per annum**
**242 Exhibition Street Melbourne office location & remote**
The Head of Enabling will play a pivotal role in optimising the performance of the Office of the State Building Surveyor (OSBS) through the delivery of enabling functions. They will do this by leveraging data and trends, coordination of relevant technical capability to internal and external stakeholders and maintaining the integrity and efficiency to deliver its legislative functions.
In addition, this role will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the performance of the building surveying industry, monitoring developments, trends relevant to building and plumbing standards to advise the Minister regarding issues in the building and plumbing industries.
**What we are looking for**:
- Extensive experience within a senior executive role, operating in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated strong experience in developing and implementing strategic plans and delivering programs.
- Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive, authoritative advice and expertise.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of professionals.\Strong understanding of policy, regulatory and industry environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, legal, finance or a policy related discipline.
**About OSBS division**
The Office of the State Building Surveyor acts as the primary source of technical expertise for building and plumbing work (both for industry and building system regulators), encourages improvements to regulatory oversight and practice and supports improvements to building surveyor practices.
**About the VBA**
The VBA is entering an exciting new phase - as we expand our regulatory footprint and amalgamate with allied and complementary services in becoming the Building and Plumbing Commission. We are refocussing all our regulatory activities towards better consumer protections and greater support of practitioners through targeted education and engagement.
