External Communications Coordinator, Corporate
4 days ago
APRA publishes hundreds of documents on its website each year, ranging from media releases and speeches to information papers and public consultations, the Corporate Affairs team needs someone to ensure this information goes out accurately, efficiently and on time.
Reporting to the External Communications Manager, you will liaise with senior stakeholders across the organisation to oversee the publication process from start to finish: managing the calendar; discussing teams’ communication requirements; and ensuring all documents are delivered in a timely manner, approved according to the proper sign-off process, and published on the APRA website.
In a fast-paced environment where you are often dealing with complex, sensitive financial industry information, you will need the ability to work well under pressure while juggling multiple tasks. You will be a team player who is willing to support colleagues, while also capable of working independently and knowing when to escalate issues.
High-level writing is not a core requirement of the role, however prior web publishing experience and a sharp eye for proof-reading are all essential attributes.
**The Team**
APRA Corporate Affairs is a small, friendly and high-functioning team of communications professionals, covering external communications, internal communications, digital media and design.
APRA’s external communications function is responsible for media relations, media releases, speeches and website publishing, while also contributing to social media.
**You will be responsible for**
- Managing APRA’s external communications calendar and overseeing the external publication process for multiple releases each week
- Accurately uploading documents to the APRA website and sending out media releases and other notifications to relevant external stakeholders
- Developing relationships and building influence and trust with key internal stakeholders to ensure APRA’s external publications policy is followed and deadlines are met
- Managing time and prioritising issues given that a diverse range of problems can be encountered simultaneously
**About you**
- Exceptional organisational skills, with experience overseeing complex processes and delivering high-quality results to deadline
- Ability to navigate dynamic environments to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills to influence outcomes with senior colleagues
- Sound judgement and proactive approach to problem solving and escalating when required
- Website management experience essential
- High integrity to manage confidential and sensitive information
- Financial industry experience is valued but not essential
**About APRA**
