**Responsibilities**
- Parliamentary: research, draft correspondence, speeches, briefing papers, talking points, media monitoring, assist in policy development
- Constituent management: primary contact point for constituent matters and community issues, provide advice to resolve constituent issues and requests
- Stakeholder engagement: liaise and maintain effective relationships with other parliamentary offices, government agencies, community organisations, and diverse stakeholders
- Manage events and forums with internal and external stakeholders
- Work collaboratively within an inclusive team environment to meet the strategic objectives of the parliamentary office
**Highly regarded skills**:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Administrative/organisational/event management skills
- Problem solving, capability to handle multiple tasks, determine appropriate priorities and respond quickly and efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills, high level customer service and engagement with diverse stakeholders
- High level understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive documents
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanour under pressure in a demanding but supportive work environment
