**Company Description**:
**About Us**

Racing and Wagering Western Australia (**RWWA**) is at the heart of WA’s racing and wagering industries. As a government trading enterprise, we regulate and develop the State’s racing sector and operate the TAB - a multifaceted wagering business with a presence across more than 300 retail outlets and growing digital platforms.

At RWWA, we pride ourselves on delivering integrity-driven outcomes for the racing community, government stakeholders, and the wider public. Our commitment to ethical conduct, information security, and community trust is at the centre of everything we do.

**About the Role**

We are seeking a PRIS Readiness Officer to join our Technology division on a 12-month maximum term contract, reporting to the Information and Data Governance Team Lead.

This is a newly created role that sits at the intersection of compliance, governance, and culture change. The PRIS Readiness Officer will be responsible for ensuring RWWA is fully prepared for the commencement of the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 (WA), as well as maintaining compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

In this role, you will:

- Shape organisational readiness by implementing and embedding RWWA’s Privacy and Information Sharing Frameworks.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and training to staff and leaders on privacy obligations, responsible information use, and information sharing best practices.
- Promote culture change by fostering awareness of privacy-by-design and responsible information sharing principles across projects and business processes.
- Drive continuous improvement by monitoring legislative developments, identifying gaps, and recommending enhancements to compliance and governance frameworks.

This role is a rare opportunity to take ownership of RWWA’s readiness for significant new legislation. You will be directly influencing how the organisation protects personal information, builds trust with the community, and responsibly shares information to improve services and outcomes.

**Qualifications**:
**About You**

You are a compliance professional with a passion for privacy and ethical information use. You combine technical expertise with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to advise, influence, and build capability across the organisation.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in privacy compliance, information governance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 (WA) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
- Experience in conducting PIAs and responding to privacy requests (highly regarded).
- Knowledge of information governance, data security, and ethical information sharing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
- A collaborative, values-driven approach, aligned with RWWA’s Culture Playbook: Respect, Accountability, Connection, Excellence.
- Experience within a regulated or public sector environment will be highly regarded.

**Additional Information**:
**Why Join Us?**

At RWWA, we’re leading the way in building a culture of trust, transparency, and responsible information use. This is your opportunity to shape a newly created role, guide our readiness for landmark legislation, and leave a lasting impact on how information is safeguarded and shared across our organisation and industry.

When you join us, you’ll gain more than a job; you will be stepping into a role where your expertise is valued, your advice influences decision-making, and your work supports one of WA’s most dynamic industries. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with passionate professionals in a supportive, inclusive environment that thrives on innovation and results.

We offer:

- ** Flexibility that works for you** - hybrid work options, flexible hours, and the tools to work effectively anywhere.
- ** Investment in your growth** - a personal learning and development budget, and opportunities to deepen your expertise in privacy, governance, and compliance.
- ** A workplace built for people** - brand-new offices with wellness spaces, end-of-trip facilities, and modern collaborative zones.
- ** Recognition that matters** - competitive remuneration, employee discounts, and reward programs that celebrate your achievements.
- ** Purpose and pride** - play a pivotal role in ensuring RWWA is ready for WA’s new privacy and information sharing regime, contributing to an organisation with deep roots in the community.
