HR Coordinator
Be hands-on to put your HR skills to good use in our family-owned poultry business.
- Enjoy flexibility in a ‘big but small’ company, where we genuinely care.
- Have meaningful impact through knowing the people you are dealing with.
- Help us be ‘One Team, growing Great Chickens’.
**About you**
You will be a people-person, with genuine work ethics and a desire to help.
- You will have current HR skills, including Award interpretation experience.
- Your contemporary HR experience will help us elevate & modernize our HR systems & practices, with HR qualifications preferred.
- You will require attention to detail and be curious to make sure things are spot-on.
- You’ll be pro-active with good organizational skills to keep on top of the behind-the-scenes admin.
- Ideally, you will have solid IT experience, especially with software such as ConnX, Sage MicroPay and Microsoft suite including Excel & SharePoint.
- You won’t be afraid to get stuck in to do the admin or put your hand up where help is needed - we work together to support each other.
- You’ll be a friend to all when you complete their weekly pay, so you’ll need some payroll experience (or be willing to learn a fairly manual payroll process - don’t worry, we’ll train you)
- You’ll do the right thing, even when no-one is watching.
**About the role**
In short - you’re here to support our teams and our people with day-to-day HR matters.
- Based at Mt Cotton, you will work side-by-side with the People & Culture Manager and be responsible for people management, including payroll.
- Your current HR skills will be used to coordinate, implement & improve tasks such as recruitment, employment contracts, onboarding & performance management.
- Payroll is an important part of your week, plus all the integral admin which sits behind these tasks.
- You will have direct input on our people strategy and a big part in implementing that strategy.
- Some travel will be required to be familiar with our process & know our people spread across 8 farms, a hatchery and our feed mill/workshop/weighbridge & main office.
- This is a full-time role with some flexibility to work from home.
- As you will sometimes be required to go on-site, you will need to meet our strict biosecurity requirements. Please read the attached declaration carefully.
**About us**
- We are a 90-year-old family poultry business, with around 150 direct employees, based in Mt Cotton but with sites spread across Southeast Queensland.
- The role of HR Coordinator is becoming available as the incumbent-extraordinaire is moving away after 15 years working with us.
- We have a diverse workforce and try to live by our values of Respect, Courage, Unity and Ownership.
- Although we’re not perfect, we aim to do our best for our people and our chickens.
