Public Sector People are working with a local council to recruit a Band 5 Building Maintenance Officer for a temporary contract assignment.

**About the role**:
As a Building Maintenance Officer you will be responsible for the timely delivery of quality Building Maintenance services and supporting the building maintenance team in administration tasks and site visits for reactive and planned maintenance activities.

**Duties will include but not limited to**:

- Ensure that Building Maintenance activities are in accordance with the requirements of relevant specifications, work plans and within allocated budgets.
- Assist with the allocation and completion of customer requests received through Council’s Customer Request System.
- Assist in preparation of contract documentation and specifications for associated maintenance work.
- Assist the Senior Building Maintenance Officer by reporting maintenance requirements including undertaking of annual building condition inspections.
- Respond to internal and external stakeholders promptly and with a high level of customer service.
- Participate in the development of new programs including Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement.
- Investigate and advise on appropriate response/action required for works and requests for services.

**Requirements include**:

- Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- Local government experience highly desired.
- Previous experience in Building maintenance operations.
- Knowledge of building construction and maintenance principles and techniques.
- A solid understanding of local government policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of Word, Windows, CM9 records management system.
- Strong customer service skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Skills in managing time, setting priorities and planning and organising own work.
- Ability to respond to changing priorities and able to complete tasks within tight timeframes.
- A current Victorian drivers license.
