**Job Description**:
A newly created role exists for an Operational Compliance Manager, to be responsible for ensuring that Toll Group's operations and processes comply with all relevant regulations, standards and policies. You will need to have a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape and ensure that all our operations are aligned with the necessary requirements.
You will be the go-to person for compliance-related matters and will work closely with various stakeholders, including the executive team, site managers, and regulatory bodies. You will oversee the compliance programs across our Industrials Vertical, encompassing our Chemicals, Paper and Glass divisions across the country, and ensure that they are consistently applied across all sites.
In addition to driving compliance, you will also promote a culture of safe work responsibility and ownership at all levels. You will be responsible for providing mentorship and development to our staff, and effecting change management at a site level.
As the Operational Compliance Manager, you will:
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance management strategies.
- Oversee compliance programs and provide guidance and support to site managers and team members.
- Conduct compliance audits, investigate incidents and near misses, and manage any deficiencies.
- Drive change management initiatives to embed compliance in our operations and processes.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on compliance performance.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to stay informed of regulatory changes and industry best practices.
**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Familiarity with the management and handling of dangerous goods in a warehousing environment, including storage, labeling, and segregation requirements.
- Experience in developing and implementing dangerous goods transport and warehousing management systems.
- Understanding of transport regulations, including the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws and National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) requirements
- Ability to conduct compliance audits and assessments, and develop and deliver training programs for staff involved in dangerous goods transport and warehousing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
