We have an exciting newly created national role for an** Operational Audit & Compliance Specialist **who will oversee the systems and compliance of multiple transport, warehouse and Major Hazard Facilities. This role will suit an individual passionate about continuous improvement, with an auditing mindset or experience in an Industrials environment where compliance has been a core part of the remit. Gain satisfaction from improving efficiency, implementing systems to mitigate risk of non-compliance and by providing mentorship and development of staff whilst effecting change management, at a site level.

As the go-to person for all systems and compliance-related matters across this diverse sector, you will liaise with a broad range of stakeholders including the executive team, site managers, and regulatory bodies whilst managing the systems, and compliance programs, and promoting a culture of safe work responsibility and accountability at all levels. Travel is an expectation for this national role.

**As the Operational Audit & Compliance Specialist, you will**:

- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance management strategies.
- Oversee compliance programs and provide guidance and support to site managers and team members.
- Conduct compliance audits, investigate incidents and near misses, and manage any deficiencies.
- Drive change management initiatives to embed compliance in our operations and processes.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on compliance performance.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to stay informed of regulatory changes and industry best practices.

**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Familiarity with the management and handling of dangerous goods in a warehousing environment, including storage, labeling, and segregation requirements.
- Experience in developing and implementing dangerous goods transport and warehousing management systems.
- Understanding of transport regulations, including the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws and National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) requirements
- Ability to conduct compliance audits and assessments, and develop and deliver training programs for staff involved in dangerous goods transport and warehousing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
