**Introduction**
Defence’s Associate Secretary Organisation are seeking an exceptional senior executive to fill a position at the SES Band 1 level, with a merit list to be created to fill other vacancies as they arise.

As part of the Senior Leadership Group, you will play a key role in promoting and influencing a shared commitment to the strategic direction of Defence. You will:

- Lead and manage a Branch practicing inclusive leadership and collaboration;
- Demonstrate sound judgement and capitalise on innovative alternatives to resolve complex problems;
- Effectively challenge the status quo when required; and
- Demonstrate resilience and personal accountability for the quality of advice and delivery of results through engaging, collaborating and partnering

**Your Role**
As the Assistant Secretary Fraud Control and Investigations Branch (FCIB), you will be accountable for the following:

- The implementation of the Public Interest Disclosure scheme within Defence and ensuring that Defence maintains a productive relationship with the Commonwealth Ombudsman.
- The Development and implementation of the Defence Fraud Control Framework which includes the development of the Fraud and Corruption control plan and assisting Groups and Services undertake fraud risk assessments.
- Undertaking investigations in relation to allegations of fraud and corruption within Defence.
- The development and implementation of key integrity related policies within Defence (such as conflict of interest and post separation employment policies).

Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis. To be eligible, applicants must be Australian citizens. This is a security-designated position and the successful applicant will be required to hold or obtain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
