**The Opportunity**

We have an exciting 16-18 month position available for a job-share Unit Head at EPA. This role will contribute to circular economy and resource recovery regulatory reform in the Strategy and Policy Branch.? You will work across a range of projects including working with stakeholders to enhance regulatory settings to support the circular economy and maintain protection of the environment and human health. Our team’s current portfolio of work also includes investigations into emerging waste types and developing policy and regulatory approaches to ensure their appropriate management (e.g. e-waste).

We are seeking to recruit a person to job-share (total of 3 days per week) in a Unit Head position. The incumbent also works three days a week.

In this role you will be leading a small team of policy professionals working on a range of waste and circular economy related operational policy and legislative reforms. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fun, flexible and collaborative team with a positive and inclusive culture. As part of the team you will be working alongside your job share partner, a Principal Policy Officer and Senior Policy Officers to deliver key environmental policies.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Coordinate and contribute to strategic policy development by preparing briefings and advice in response to Ministerial and Executive requests on a range of priorities including reform initiatives in regulatory policy, legislative policy and economic policy
- Provide project management and support services to the development and delivery of policy initiatives.
- Undertake research, analysis, evaluation and writing to support the development of policy and legislative reforms.
- Undertake stakeholder engagement activities including coordinating and overseeing co-design work as part of a policy development process.
- Assist in the review of policies and policy reforms to assess appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency and determine the need for corrective action and policy review to inform future planning and policy development.
- Prepare high quality and fit for purpose reports/briefing notes and other written material to contribute to the evidence base for the development of policy advice and initiatives.
